Why am I hiking the HRP?
I was looking for a month-long thru-hike this summer and was deciding between a few trails across the northern hemisphere.
The Haute Route Pyrénées has always been one I've wanted to attempt - a demanding traverse from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean through some of the wildest mountain terrain in Europe.
I was already going to be in Europe, so it only made sense that this would be the time for it. I'm looking forward to extended solo time in the mountains, a challenging trail that'll test me, documenting the journey, and just being on a proper long trail again.
